Paolo Di Canio and Sunderland
As an exiled geordie, it isn’t up to me to have a go at a sunderland afc and their choice of new manager.
The two times a season we play them I want a win. other times i’d like them to lose because it helps us. mostly though, the Premier league needs a few teams from the North East in it to keep my region in the forefront of football.
As for the media furore around Di Canio being a fascist. most of this is being written by Londoners who have never been to the North East of England in their lives. Not one of them has contacted fans groups for an opinion, it’s just “What the london papers think best”. well fuck that. regional journalists based in the NE have a right to write about the appointment as they will actually have contact with fans. the rest of the country can do one.
